homework
Homework will not be assigned daily for my subjects (reading, spelling, English, handwriting, and social studies). If classwork is not completed in a timely manner in class, it will be sent home to be completed, and is expected to be returned the next day.
Even though assigned homework is not given, I do expect my students to be reading every night! Students are required to take AR tests in third grade, and it will count as a test grade at the end of each 9 weeks.
Students will still be required to study for tests. Projects will be assigned throughout the year, and may require pieces to be completed at home.

Flexible Seating
I am really excited to introduce flexible seating to your children this year. Research shows the benefits of alternative seating help improve focus by building core muscles, along with an increase in oxygen flow to the brain. Other benefits include better posture, increase in motivation and engagement, and students are able to burn calories and excess energy. I am really excited to see these benefits help your children become the best learners they can be!

conduct/DISCIPLINE Policy
Each child will start each 9 weeks off with 100 points. Any time a clip is moved down more than once, I will deduct the necessary points off his/her conduct grade. The same goes if a child receives a green slip outside of the classroom.

Scholastic book orders
Scholastic book orders are a great way to encourage reading. Book order forms will be going home as they come in. Ordering online using our class code is the easiest and fastest way to order. The online code for 3B is N8JNT.
